Last Century Jewellery Bio

If you are looking to purchase unusual, rare and beautiful collectible vintage costume jewellery, you have come to the right website!

I have a passion for collecting Czech, French and German Costume Jewellery from the Art Deco era to the 1960s.

Although nicknamed 'Brass & Glass Junk Jewellery' this costume jewellery is in fact extremely high quality, and was generally hand made by master craftsmen using fine components and colourful and sparkling Bohemian and French glass stones and beads.

My interest was sparked by reading the tragic tale of the talented and creative  Neiger Brothers, Max and Norbert.  The brothers created visually stunning and wonderfully imaginative high end costume jewellery during the 1920s and 1930s, until their shocking and untimely deaths during World War Two.

I then discovered the work of Louis Rousselet, master lampwork glass bead maker from Paris, who produced absolute top quality beads and jewellery for 50 years, from the 1920s to the 1970s.

My shops sell a variety of vintage and antique European and Continental necklaces, bracelets, brooches etc., not just Czechoslovakian, but also some absolutely exquisite jewellery made in France by Louis Rousselet from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.

I also stock some jewellery made in Germany, Italy and Austria up to the 1960s.  It is fascinating to note how German and Austrian costume jewellery has many similarities to both Czech and French costume jewellery.

I look forward to welcoming you to my shops should you wish to buy a special necklace, bracelet, earrings or brooch, either for yourself or as a gift.

If you are searching for a specific item from a bygone age for your collection, please do ask me - I may have just the piece in one of my many jewelry boxes and treasure chests...!
